LO3 Showing Conventions Of The Genre

The Cover
The Similarities; The front covers of both magazines have a full page shot of the particular sport that the magazine is about. Both covers are very simple and minimalisticThe Logo of each magazine is placed in the top corner.
The Differences; The names of the articles are placed/listed differently.

The Editorial
The Similarities; Both editorials are put to the side with a large image taking up most of the space. Shows the most interesting articles in the whole magazine large and visible.
The Differences; In my magazine No picture description. More white space. The colour is less spaced so parts look very bland.

The 2 page spread
The Similarities; Large picture taking up a lot of space. Large title above the article.
The Differences; Article split in to sections and spaced throughout the page. My article also includes several small images. My main image is more action packed than the one from the
    Whitelines magazine.

Lo2 Legal and ethical

Legal and Ethical

When making a campaign I need to follow certain ASA guidelines that will make sure my content is legal.

I need to make sure that my graphic products do not contain anything that could offend anybody, For example on the poster I need to make sure that the images used could not cause offense to anyone that views the graphics. I also need to make sure that the text on my magazine is appropriate and not cause harm or offence.

The purpose of my graphics is to serve as an informative magazine I need to make sure that the images stay true to what they are telling and not have any misleading information on my magazine I have created.

1 slander
2 discrimination
3 copyright

Law #1
Obscene Publication Act 1959 and 1964
To avoid breaking this law. I won't show any sensitive images that may offend someone.

Law #2
The Defamation Act 2013
To avoid breaking this law. I will only tell stories with evidence to back it up to not offend anyone.without reason.

Law #3
The copyright law
To avoid breaking this law. I will only use content that i created myself.

Law #4
Negligent publication
To avoid breaking this law. I will warn people to do things at their own risk or under supervision.

Ethical issues

What is copyright?

Copyright is when a certain piece of media is created/taken by a person and it makes them the only person who is allowed to use the piece of media unless he allows other people to use that media.
(protect the intellectual property)

Why is this important?

This is important to us as we can protect our images from being stolen and used by other people.

Gaining permission to use other peoples media.

A release and connect form is a form that allows you or other people use a certain media that is
copyrighted. this allows you to use the image to your own liking.

This form involves models names, what this permission allows you to do, owners name, signatures (this makes the document official). you will also need permissions to take photos from certain private locations.

You are not allowed to use a telephoto lens in public places as you are able to take a photo from a long distance away and the person will never know that a picture of them has been taking.

In public spaces u need to be careful as you may accidentally take pictures of logos and they are affected by copyright.

We need to be conscious of representation when taking pictures because we could miss-represent people/companies/religions/ethnicities/abilities as you may get sued.

LO1 5 Mastheads

1) the first idea is a simple UFM with a number of the issue used in the title. The font used makes it look like spray paint which fits with he urban style of the magazine. UFM stands for Urban Freerun Magazine  and i though that a spray paint style would work well

LO1 Media Article

1) Media Article
This article lists the best media posted by the parkour community around the world and all the media.

First of all we have the youtube section. A brand new video from STORROR. "SHWooPS!!?" is a video of Toby Segar and  Jessie Peverill telling you what to do with "your 7 spare times" the video has footage of the athletes meeting over the time of 3 years where they mess around every time getting up to some sort of mischief. The video is 6 minutes of "quality footage" that Jessie LaFlair commented on "Im so wet" so we can safely say that the video is good is it funny? I don't know.

Farang have let out 2 new videos one being the labyrinth video there the team confuse us once again with their optical illusions. The team show excellent skill and control
